The health and safety of our patients, families and staff is our highest priority. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is requiring hospitals to meet established criteria as part of the state’s reopening plan. The Boston Shriners Hospital completed its Phase 1 attestation on May 27, 2020, and its Phase 2 attestation on June 15, 2020 and its Phase 3 attestation on July 13, 2020. The Phase 3 attestation was resubmitted and reaffirmed on November 16, 2020. The Boston Shriners Hospital also completed and submitted the state’s resurgence attestation on November 16, 2020.

David Lawlor, M.D.

David Lawlor, M.D., is a surgeon on the consulting staff at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Boston and is an assistant in surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Lawlor is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is certified in pediatric surgery. Dr. Lawlor earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and completed his fellowship in pediatric surgery at Izaak Walton Killam/Grace Health Centre.

Dr. Lawlor’s major research interests have been direct products of clinical experience in critically ill patients.His clinical interests include extracorporeal life support, minimally invasive techniques, neonatal surgery, pediatric general and thoracic surgery, pediatric urology, and burns and critical care.
