First-time patients

If your child has a condition treated by Shriners Hospitals for Children — Greenville, please contact our patient appointment line to schedule an appointment. Your intake/referral coordinator will partner with you to gather the necessary information and will inform you at the time if your child has a condition that can be cared for at the Greenville Shriners Hospital. Please call our patient intake line at 866-459-0013.

The hospital accepts many types of insurance, including Medicaid. We work with all families regardless of their ability to pay. For more information, or if you have additional questions, please call our financial counselor at 864-240-8184.

Transportation to our hospital may be available from a Shrine temple (chapter) in your area. The intake/referral coordinator can provide you with your local Shrine temple’s phone number. You may contact us by phone at the number above or via email.

Outpatient visits

Have you been seen at our hospital before and need to connect with our outpatient clinic? To schedule, reschedule or cancel a follow-up clinic appointment, call 864-271-3444.

Please remember to bring to appointments:

  • A list of current medications your child is taking
  • X-rays
  • Your child’s primary care and referring physicians’ name, address, phone and fax numbers
  • Insurance card and picture ID

Inpatient visits

If you have questions about your scheduled surgery or the admission process, please call 864-271-3444.

Pre-admission visit

If this is a planned admission, you can expect a phone call from your care manager one to four weeks prior to your admission date. If for some reason you find it necessary to cancel this admission, please contact your physician’s nurse or the surgery scheduler as soon as possible. A pre-admission appointment will be scheduled before your admission date.

Arrival

We will try our best to make your child’s stay with us as easy as possible. Please plan to arrive at the time designated on your admission notice. You will need to register at the outpatient desk and the receptionist will direct you to the admission area. There, you will be met by the admission nurse who will review your child’s health history. Although the health history review may seem repetitive, your answers help us give your child the best care possible.

Questions

Each patient is assigned a nurse to care for him or her. The nurse will show you and your child around the floor and hospital. You may have many questions about the hospital, your child’s appointment/surgery and the care that your child will be receiving. The nursing staff is always available to provide you with the information you need.
