Lauren Hyer, M.D.

Lauren Hyer, M.D.

Lauren Hyer, M.D., is the only practicing female pediatric orthopaedic surgeon in the Upstate of South Carolina. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, her special interests include arthrogryposis, cerebral palsy, clubfoot, limb deficiency and injury care.

Dr. Hyer completed her fellowship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital – the only pediatric orthopaedic hospital in Arizona. The exclusivity of the hospital provided Dr. Hyer with the opportunity to care for a highly diverse population of patients from across the state. By the end of her fellowship, Dr. Hyer had participated in over 430 surgeries – giving her extensive experience prior to her arrival at Greenville Shriners Hospital in 2016.

As a former board member for the Down Syndrome Family Alliance and Salvation Army Women’s shelter volunteer, she has dedicated her life to helping others. An accomplished athlete, Dr. Hyer once road her bike across the country to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children. She and her husband are the parents of one son.
