At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia, we provide state-of-the-art medical care and rehabilitation for children with spinal cord injuries, as well as a host of orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal disorders and diseases. Our family-centered approach to care means every member of our team – from doctors, nurses and therapists, to our world-class research team – is focused on improving the child’s function and independence, while supporting the family every step of the way.

The course of care is determined individually for each patient. Each patient’s path to success is fueled by private donations and driven by excellence in treatment, teaching and research.

The Philadelphia Shriners Hospital demonstrates a strong commitment to high-quality care and excellence in patient experience. Surveys are provided to our patients to fill out, based on Press Ganey – a leader in the health care industry, helping hospitals transform the patient experience and create continuous, sustainable improvement. Patient satisfaction scores in our inpatient and outpatient areas regarding the likelihood of patients to recommend the hospital to others, has consistently been at or above 96 percent over the past two years. During that same time, we have maintained a score of 97.9 percent regarding the likelihood of patients recovering from surgery to recommend the hospital.

Infection prevention and control is paramount to any hospital. At Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia, we have sustained a rate of zero for both central line blood stream infections and ventilator acquired pneumonia from March 2013 to September 2018.

The hospital strives to maintain a high level of patient safety and quality outcomes within the inpatient and outpatient setting.
