Marie Prothero, RN, MSN, FACHE

Marie Prothero, RN, MSN, FACHE, is an experienced health care leader with over 30 years experience working in hospital and nursing executive roles. She has focused on developing high-functioning teams related to patient safety, performance improvement and hospital operations. Marie has been driven in all of her past positions to develop a culture of excellence, transparency and patient satisfaction. She is currently the nurse executive/director of patient care services at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Salt Lake City.

Marie is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Publication Committee for the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Marie is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Nursing, University of Utah. Her research area of focus is on nurses’ experience following a medical error that has caused harm to a patient. She is also a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Utah and a Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar.

When Marie is not working, she loves to travel with her husband and spend time with her two children and five grandchildren.
