Philip Stoddard, M.D.

Philip Stoddard, M.D.

Philip Stoddard, M.D., is the plastic surgery and medical director for the cleft lip and palate clinic at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield. He earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery from the University of Rochester and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his residency in plastic surgery from the University of Rochester and Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.

Areas of special interest to Dr. Stoddard include cleft lip and palate, originating a CAD:CAM presurgical care for wide clefts with U.S. patent approval, and outreach to third-world countries by missions for cleft care through Rotoplast and Alliance for Smiles.

He has served as a preceptor for University of Massachusetts Plastic Surgery Fellows, and an advisor to Biomedical Engineering Students at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts.
