The Springfield Shriners Hospital submitted its Phase 1 attestation on May 29, 2020, its Phase 2 attestation on June 9, 2020, and its Phase 3 attestation on July 8, 2020.

Samantha Fernandez, MS, LAT, ATC

Samantha Fernandez, MS, LAT, ATC

Samantha Fernandez, MS, LAT, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer at the Springfield Shriners Hospital. She graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training, and a Master of Science in exercise science, with a concentration of athletic training rehabilitation.

In between her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, she took an internship year and worked at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. In that role, she was the primary athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball team and assistant athletic trainer for the track and field teams. While completing her master’s degree, Samantha worked as a graduate fellow athletic trainer for Springfield College, and her primary sport responsibilities were women’s field hockey, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and women’s lacrosse.

In conjunction with Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield, Samantha is working at Sabis International School as the head athletic trainer, in addition to assisting our sports health and medicine coordinator with special events in the Sports Health and Medicine program.
