The health and safety of our patients, families and staff is our highest priority. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is requiring hospitals to meet established criteria as part of the state’s reopening plan. The Springfield Shriners Hospital submitted its Phase 1 attestation on May 29, 2020, its Phase 2 attestation on June 9, 2020, and its Phase 3 attestation on July 8, 2020. The Phase 3 attestation was resubmitted and reaffirmed on November 16, 2020.

Hospital volunteers

The Springfield Shriners Hospital is a specialized orthopaedic hospital offering volunteer positions in various departments, as well as our information desk. Volunteer placement is based on matching your abilities, interests and availability with the needs of our hospital. Volunteer shifts typically run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. We cannot guarantee open positions all the time, but work hard to align your talents and interests with a volunteer position to ensure a meaningful volunteer experience. If an appropriate volunteer position is available, you will be contacted for a phone interview. If no appropriate openings are available when your application is received, we will keep your application on file for three months.
