Car competition benefits hospital's seating program

This year’s inaugural Gasparilla Concours d’Elegance raised more than $22,000 for our seating program, which designs and builds custom wheelchairs for our patients. Thanks to Joanne and Brando Pistorius, as well as all the committee members, sponsors and volunteers for their hard work and dedication to our mission. A special shout out to past patients Kechi Okwuchi of America’s Got Talent, and singer/songwriter Ali McManus for keeping us inspired and entertained during the event.

Concours d’Elegance means a “competition of elegance” and refers to an event where prestigious vehicles are displayed and judged. President Woodrow Wilson's 1919 Pierce Arrow was just one of many vintage automobiles seen at the event earlier this year.

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of those organizing this event that showcases the most beautiful and beloved cars in the world,” said Alicia Argiz-Lyons, development director for the Tampa Shriners Hospital.

We are looking forward to the 2nd annual Concours d’Elegance from April 17 – 19, 2020, at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa. Mark your calendars now and please visit Concours d’Elegance online for more information.
